Everyone and their mother (literally) has a Facebook account, but does Facebook allow adult entertainers to use their services? The answer is kind of complicated. Here’s their somewhat vague policy on adult-themed content:

As you’ve probably heard in the news, a lot of people have had photos removed or accounts shut down for showing semi-nude images that aren’t even sexual in nature, like of a mom breastfeeding. So you can imagine Facebook might not be the best place to post your nude shots.

Facebook also states “You will not use Facebook to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.” So depending on what type of adult services you provide, your business page or personal account (whichever way you decide to go) may get shut down if the powers-that-be at Facebook think your services are in any way illegal in the United States.

All that being said, a lot of people providing adult-themed services do have a Facebook page for their business or promote their business on their personal page. As long as you don’t post anything sexually explicit, show nudity, or promote anything that’s illegal, there’s no reason you shouldn’t have one. Just be prepared to have your site shut down if Facebook thinks you’ve crossed a line.

If you do use Facebook, you should also be aware that Instagram and Vine have slightly different terms than Facebook. Instagram has a pretty clear policy against images of a sexual nature. Vine just prohibits promoting illegal activity.

Things to Keep in Mind When Using Facebook

Facebook can be a great way to network with others who provide similar services. It can also be an excellent way to post any special deals you might be offering, share info about yourself, and keep your admirers in the loop about what’s happening with you.

If you do decide to create a Facebook page for your adult entertainer business, just be careful to keep any details you want private kept private. If you use a stage name, make sure you only use that name on your site. Facebook has a tendency to change their privacy policies on you when you least expect it, so make sure you don’t use any information you’re not comfortable getting out there, like your personal email, phone number, or real name.

Also be aware that some clients may not want to be Facebook friends or Like your business page since they may keep their public life separate from their personal life, too. Don’t take it personally. Even if you don’t have hundreds of friends right away, it’s still important to publicize your business in any way you can.

Remember that linking between your escort website and your Facebook page is another great way to get some link juice going. And it’s another way to get your business showing up in Google.
